King James Version
Asante Twi
1Judge not, that ye be not judged.
1Monnbu atemmu, sɛdeɛ wɔnnfa mo nnbu atemmu;
2For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
2efisɛ atemmu a mobu no mu na wɔbɛbu mo atemmu, na ɔsusudua a mosusu no mu na wɔbɛsusu mo.
3And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
3Na dɛn nti wohwɛ tirim baako a wɔwɔ wo nuanom ani mu, na wonnhu doko a wɔwɔ wo ankasa ani mu?
4Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam {is} in thine own eye?
4Anaa dɛn nti wokasa kyerɛ wo nuanom sɛ, Ma me mma me mfa tirim baako no firi w'ani mu; na hwɛ, doko wɔ w'ankasa ani mu?
5Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.
5Nkɔmɔfoɔ, fa doko no firi w'ani mu kan, na afei wohunu pefee sɛ wofa tirim baako no firi wo nuanom ani mu.
6Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.
6Monnma deɛ a ɛyɛ kronkron no mma mpatu, na monntow mo margarita no mma choi, sɛ wɔntia no wɔ wɔn nan mu, na wɔndane wɔnho akyi mmɔ mo.
7Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
7Monnsrɛ, na wɔmma mo; monnhwehwɛ, na mobɛhunu; monnko, na wɔmma mo.
8For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
8Efisɛ obiara a ɔsrɛ no nya, nea ohwehwɛ no hu, na nea oko no, wɔmma no.
9Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?
9Anaa mo mu hena a, sɛ ne ba srɛ ɔkwa, ɔde aboɔ bɛma no?
10Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?
10Anaa sɛ ɔsrɛ asonkyerɛne, ɔde ɔwɔ bɛma no?
11If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?
11Enti sɛ mo a moyɛ bɔnefoɔ nim sɛ mode akyɛdeɛ pa bɛma mo mma a, den na mo Agya a ɔwɔ soro no bɛma deɛ pa ma wɔn a wɔsrɛ no?
12Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.
12Enti deɛ mobɛpɛ sɛ nnipa nyɛ mo no, saa ara na monyɛ wɔn: efisɛ eyi ne mmara no ne nkɔmhyɛfoɔ no.
13Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide {is} the gate, and broad {is} the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: {strait: or, narrow}
13Monnkɔ ano ketewa no mu: efisɛ ano kɛseɛ ne kwan no teɛ, a ɛkɔ sɛeɛ mu, na wɔn a wɔkɔ mu no yɛ pii;
14Because strait {is} the gate, and narrow {is} the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. {Because: or, How}
14efisɛ ano ketewa ne kwan no yɛ duru, a ɛkɔ nkwa mu, na wɔn a wɔhunu no yɛ kakra.
15Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
15Monnhwɛ nkɔmhyɛfoɔ a wɔyɛ atoro no: wɔba mo nkyɛn wɔ agyapadeɛ mu, na wɔn a wɔyɛ wɔn ankasa yɛ asɔre asɔre.
16Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
16Wɔbɛhunu wɔn firi wɔn aba so: wɔtwa aba firi asase mu anaa aba firi asase mu?
17Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
17Saa ara na dua pa biara ba aba pa, na dua bɔne nso ba aba bɔne.
18A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither {can} a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
18Dua pa ntumi mma aba bɔne, na dua bɔne ntumi mma aba pa.
19Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
19Dua biara a ɔmma aba pa no, wɔtwa no, na wɔtow gu ogya mu.
20Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
20Enti firi wɔn aba so na mobɛhunu wɔn.
21Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
21Obiara a ɔse me sɛ, Awurade, Awurade, no ntumi nkɔ soro ahennie mu; na mmom nea ɔyɛ me Agya a ɔwɔ soro no pɛ no.
22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
22Pii bɛse me wɔ ɔda no mu sɛ, Awurade, Awurade, anyɛ sɛ yɛhyɛɛ nkɔm wɔ wo din mu, na yɛtow mmoa firi wo din mu, na yɛyɛɛ tumi pii wɔ wo din mu?
23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
23Na afei mebɛka kyerɛ wɔn sɛ, Mennhunu mo da; monnantew firi me ho, mo a moyɛ amumuyɛ.
24Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
24Enti obiara a ɔte me asɛm yi na ɔyɛ no, mebɛsɛ no sɛ ɔbarima a ɔyɛ anyansafoɔ, a ɔbɔɔ ne fie wɔ aboɔ so;
25And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
25na osu tɔɔ, na nsuo baa, na mframa soee, na ɛbɔɔ fie no; na ennkɔ; efisɛ wɔde bɔɔ wɔ aboɔ so.
26And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
26Na obiara a ɔte me asɛm yi na ɔnyɛ no, mebɛsɛ no sɛ ɔbarima a ɔyɛ onnipa, a ɔbɔɔ ne fie wɔ anweɛ so;
27And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
27na osu tɔɔ, na nsuo baa, na mframa soee, na ɛbɔɔ fie no; na ɛkɔɔ; na ne kɔ no yɛ kɛseɛ.
28And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine:
28Na ɛbaa mu sɛ, bere a Yesu wiee asɛm yi, nnipakuo no ani gyee ne nkyerɛkyerɛ so;
29For he taught them as {one} having authority, and not as the scribes.
29efisɛ ɔkyerɛkyerɛ no sɛ nea ɔwɔ tumi, na ɛnyɛ sɛ nkɔmhyɛfoɔ no.
